Armenian Embassy participates at the WaterCan Embassy Dinner

The Armenian Embassy in Ottawa participated at the Embassy Dinner, an annual event organized by WaterCan charitable organization to raise funds for providing clean water to poorest communities. The event took place on May 4, 2007, at the historic Aberdeen Pavilion in Lansdowne Park in Ottawa.

All funds raised at the Dinner help support small-scale clean water and sanitation projects in developing countries. This charity event attracts many prominent members of Canadian society and representatives of local media and is a good opportunity for participating countries to present their national culture, arts and cuisine.

This year the Embassy Dinner featured a ‘Buffet of Nations’ that offered a variety of culinary specialties from more than 40 countries, a Parade of Nations and Live and Silent Auctions filled with unique items for bidding

Although most of the guests have never tested Armenian food before, the Armenian booth, decorated with souvenirs and filled with traditional dishes and sweets received a lot of attention and high commends. Many returned for another helping of delicious food or unique Armenian walnut preserve or to take a picture with Armenian King and Queen dressed in traditional royal costumes, who greeted the guests at the Armenian booth.

The Embassy of Armenia also donated a photograph "Window for Life" by a renowned Canadian-Armenian photograper Hrayr "Hawk" Khatcherian for the Silent Auction.
