Ambassador Yeganian participated in 11th Annual International Pomegranate Film Festival in Toronto

From November 16th to November 20th, Armen Yeganian, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Canada, participated in the 11th Annual International Pomegranate Film Festival, organized by Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society (Toronto). The Film Festival was attended by renowned producers and actors from different countries, Canadian politicians, Armenian community members, representatives of the international media and many others.

In his welcoming speech, Ambassador Yeganian expressed gratitude to the organizers of the Festival and to all those who had supported the successful realization of such an important event. The Ambassador touched upon the history of Armenian film production, speaking about the great producers of history and their works. He applauded the organizers of the Pomegranate Film Festival for creating a venue where people who love cinema, whether they be from Armenia, Canada, or any other country, can gather and enjoy world-class films in Toronto.

The Oscar winning film “Spotlight”, Atom Egoyan’s “Remember”, Sarik Andreasyan's “Earthquake”, as well “Ithaca” (based on William Saroyan’s “Human Comedy”), “Women of 1915”, “3 Weeks in Yerevan” and the Turkish-produced “Lost Birds” were shown at the Pomegranate Film Festival.

Some of the films presented during the festival were shown in some of the largest and most well-known cinemas of Toronto, where thousands of visitors were hosted to enjoy the art of film making.
