On the occasion of the 102nd Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide many events took place across Canada.

On April 21st, a memorial event dedicated to the 102nd Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide took place near the monument to the Armenian Genocide in the city of Laval. The event was organized and hosted by the Armenian communities of Montreal and Laval. Ambassador Yeganian, MPs Eva Nassif and Fayçal El-Khoury, Mayor Marc Demers of Laval, members of the clergy, political figures, many representatives of the Armenian community and journalists attended the event.

Ambassdor Yeganian addressed the attendees during the event, and MP Eva Nassif read an address by an address prepared by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, on the occasion of the 102nd Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

On April 23rd, a memorial event dedicated to the 102nd Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide took place in the Toronto. Berdj Sevazlian, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia, MP Arnold Chan, the President of the Canada-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, political figures and members of the Armenian community of Toronto attended the event.

On April 24th, events dedicated to the 102nd Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide began with the laying of wreaths near the Armenia Immortal statue in front of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia. Ambassador Yeganian read an address by Serzh Sargsyan, the President of the Republic of Armenia, on the occasion of the 102nd Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Then a traditional memorial prayer took place at the Embassy with the participation of Clergymen and numerous representatives of the Armenian community. Jim Watson, the Mayor of Ottawa also participated at the event held at the Embassy.

Then an official event, dedicated to the 102nd Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, took place in front of the Parliament of Canada. Ambassador Yeganian, leaders of the Armenian Apostolic, Catholic and Protestant Churches, representatives of the Canadian diplomatic corps, political figures, representatives of the Armenian community attended the event.

In his speech, Ambassador Yeganian thanked the Government of Canada for the recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide. Ambassador Yeganian stressed that the position of the Canadian Government has always been met by gratitude and respect from the Canadian Armenian community.

Fayçal El-Khoury delivered a speech on behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada. A memorial march took place after the event.
