Working visit of the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Windsor

On May 17, in the framework of a working visit to Windsor, H.E. Ambassador Anahit Harutyunyan attended the official opening ceremonies of temporary exhibits, titled “The Armenian Community of Windsor” and “Karsh in Windsor”, held in the Chimczuk Museum and the Art Windsor-Essex art gallery respectively.

In her opening remarks, Ambassador Harutyunyan drew the attention of those present that the events are being held within the “Armenian Heritage Month”, celebrated in the province of Ontario.
It was noted that “The Armenian Community of Windsor” exhibit tells the powerful story of perseverance of the Armenian people who, despite profound hardship, have preserved their cultural identity and contributed meaningfully to their new community. In that context, Ambassador Harutyunyan, emphasized the role of the Armenian-Canadian community in the development of bilateral relations.
Ambassador Harutyunyan expressed special thanks to Christopher Waters, Professor at the University of Windsor, for initiating and organizing the exhibits.

The events were attended by around 100 guests - representatives of the Windsor City Council and Armenian-Canadian community, as well as many art lovers.

“The Armenian Community of Windsor” exhibit will remain on display until August 31, and the “Karsh in Windsor” exhibit - until June 1.
