Harold Albrecht elected Chair of Canada-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group

The newly-reconstituted all-party Canada-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, elected the Honourable Harold Albrecht (Conservative, Kitchener-Conestoga) as its new chair. Mr. Albrecht succeeds the Honourable Garry Goodyear (Conservative, Cambridge), who on October 30, 2008, was appointed Minister of State for Science and Technology.

The General Meeting of the Group also elected Nicole Demers (Bloc Qébécois, Laval), Reymonde Folco (Liberal, Laval-les Iles) and Peter Stoffer (NDP, Sackville-Eastern Shore) as vice-chairs, and Senators Consiglio Di Nino (Conservative, Ontario) and Jerahmiel Grafstein, (Liberal, Ontario) as members to the board.

More than fifty Memebers of Parliament and Senate have joined the Canada-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group.
