On September 19 Ambassador Armen Yeganian attended the opening ceremony of the Canadian Museum of Human Rights (CMHR) - opened in Winnipeg, Manitoba by David Johnston, Governor General  of Canada.

The Embassy and the Museum have been cooperating closely for three years, which resulted in signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the CMHR and the Museum-Institute of Armenian Genocide in November, 2013. The sides will exchange knowledge and expertise, educational materials, and exhibitions with respect to human rights, share research and advice regarding the Armenian Genocide, and advance the academic study of human rights and reconciliation.

The Canadian Museum of Human Rights is the only state museum outside of Armenia, that includes a permanent exhibition regarding the Armenian Genocide.
