Annual "Pomegranate" Film Festival Took Place in Toronto

The 9th annual "Pomegranate" film festival took place on November 5-9 in Toronto. Established by "Hamazkayin" Armenian Educational and Cultural Society in 2006, the Pomegranate is one of the biggest festivals dedicated to Armenian filmography.

9th Pomegranate presented 40 films from 33 countries - including 10 films by female directors. Atom Egoyan's "Captive", Hratch Keshishyan's "Thank you, Dad" and Gor Kirakosyan's "Knight's Move" are worth special mentioning. The directors honoured the festival with their presence.

In his address Ambassador Armen Yeganian spoke highly about Armenian film-making traditions and expressed gratitude to the organizers of the 9th festival for their outstanding work.
