Energy and Natural Resources Minister Yervand Zakharyan's Working Visit to Canada

A delegation, headed by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Yervand Zakharyan was on a working visit to Canada on March 1-4 to take part in the largest international mining convention, held annually in Toronto.

The delegation visited trade shows, organized in the frameworks of the convention and attended the booths of companies operating in the Republic of Armenia. Among those were mining firms, such as Dundee Precious Metals, Lydian and Centerra Gold.

Minister Yervand Zakharyan attended high-level panel discussion, organized by Price Waterhouse Coopers consulting, where he gave an overview of Armenian mining sector and answered questions. The Minister spoke about current opportunities in the sector, briefed to the audience on the investment climate in Armenia and invited international companies to invest in Armenia.

Besides meetings with the companies, which already operate in Armenia, Minister also met with potential investors who are interested in mining operations in the Republic of Armenia.

The delegation also participated in a mining conference held in the frameworks of the convention, where Armenian Ambassador to Canada Armen Yeganian had a speech.
