Annual Meeting of Canada-Armenian Parliamentary Friendship Group Took Place in Ottawa

On March 25 the Annual General Meeting of Canada-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship group took place in Ottawa, during which Hon. Harold Albrecht, M.P., member of Conservative party, was re-elected as the Chairman of the group.

Members of House of Commons and of the Senate, as well as representatives of Armenian advocacy groups participated in the event.

Ambassador Yeganian delivered a speech during the Annual Meeting, greeting the members of the Friendship Group, presenting the developments of bilateral and inter-parliamentary relations and emphasizing the importance of parliamentary diplomacy.

Issues of the Centenary of the Armenian Genocide, assistance to the Syrian refugees in Armenia and active cooperation between Parliamentary Friendship Groups were discussed.
