Ambassador Yeganian Participated at the 40th Anniversary Celebrations of Abaka Weekly

On October 10 Ambassador of Armenia to Canada Armen Yeganian participated in the celebrations, dedicated to the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of “Abaka” weekly in Montreal. “Abaka” is the first newspaper of the Armenian community of Canada and is published in three languages.

Addressing the audience, Ambassador Yeganian congratulated the editorial staff of the newspaper and stressed, that the weekly has had a big impact on the development and consolidation of the Armenian community of Canada.

During the event Ambassador presented Haroutiun Arzumanian, a co-founder and a long-time board member of the weekly, with the “Ambassador of Mother-tongue” medal, bestowed upon him by the Ministry of Diaspora of Armenia for his contribution to the Armenian media.
