International Film Festival Dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide

On November 16-23, organized by the Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Union (Toronto) with the support of the Embassy of Armenia to Canada, the 10th “Pomegranate” international annual film festival took place in Toronto, which was dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide this year.

Festival hosted the Ambassador of Armenia to Canada Armen Yeganian, numerous prominent directors and actors from different countries of the world, social-political figures of Canada, numerous representatives of media and Armenian community.

Ambassador Yeganian stressed that 10th film festival takes place in 2015, which is the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide. In the framework of the “Pomegranate” festival Fatih Akin’s movie “The Cut” was screened at the “Regent” theatre of Totonto.

In his welcoming speech Ambassador Yeganian thanked everyone involved in the organization of the festival and presented a special award to the organizing committee of the festival on behalf of the Embassy.
