Event at the Embassy commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Artsakh Movement

On March 15 an event dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of Artsakh Movement was organized at the Embassy of Armenia to Canada.

The event was attended by diplomats, political and public figures and representatives of Armenian community organizations.

In his address to the guests Ambassador Yeganian emphasized the importance of Karabakh Movement for Armenians worldwide. Ambassador pointed out the fact that this movement had a huge impact on the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Afterwards a lecture entitled “The six years, that changed the Armenian World” was presented by Mr. Migirdic Migirdicyan, head of the Toronto Chapter of the All-Armenian Fund. The lecturer had prepared a comprehensive presentation on the Artsakh Movement. He talked about the anti-Armenian xenophobia in Azerbaijan, the Armenian massacres in Sumgayit, Baku and Maragha. Mr. Migirdicyan discussed the brilliant strategies used by Armenian military for the liberation of several settlements during the conflict, underlining that the Arstakh liberation movement was a significant victory for a nation still suffering from the scars of Genocide.
