Embassy of Armenia participated in "Open Doors Ottawa 2013" Programme

On June 1-2 the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia, a Heritage Building of Ottawa, participated in the "Open Doors Ottawa 2013" programme. During the two-day event some 1000 people visited the Embassy, got acquainted with the architecture and the history of the building.

The building of the Embassy of Armenia has more than hundred years of history and has previously hosted the Embassies of Uruguay and Hungary. Nowadays, the building is the property of the Republic of Armenia.

The unprecedented number of visitors also had the chance to gain information about the Armenian culture and history. The Embassy's staff presented the Armenian arts, the cross-stone making, the role of church-building in Armenian architecture - underlining the fact that Armenia is the first country to adopt Christianity as its state religion.
