Ambassador Yeganian participated at the ceremony dedicated to 45th anniversary of St Grigor Lusavorich church of Montreal

On December 13, Ambassador of Armenia to Canada Armen Yeganian participated at the ceremony dedicated to 45th anniversary of St Grigor Lusavorich church of Montreal.

Ambassador took part in the Saint mass delivered by the Primate of the Canadian diocese of the Armenian Apostolic church, bishop Abgar Hovakimian, then he participated at the event dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the consecration of the church.

The event hosted bishop Abgar Hovakimian, public-political figures, numerous representatives of the Armenian community in Canada.

In his remarks dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the consecration of the Church, ambassador Yeganian mentioned the unique role the church has had in the lives of Canadian-Armenians, since the very first day of its establishment until today. Ambassador emphasized that the Armenian church along with the Armenian language and schools is one of the important cornerstones of the preservation of the Armenian identity. For centuries long Armenian church has been a uniting and strengthening force for the Armenian people having no statehood.

National dance and singing groups, as well as individuals performed at the event. A documentary dedicated to the history of St Grigor Lusavorich church was screened.
