Ambassador Yeganian participated in the 46th Annual Homenetmen Canada Games

Ambassador Yeganian participated in the 46th Annual Homenetmen Canada Games, which took place from November 25th to 27th. The games were organized by the Canadian Chapter of Armenian General Athletic Union and Scouts.

The three-day sporting event comprised of football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and chess. Hundreds of sportsmen from all over Canada, as well as from the United States traveled to Cambridge for the games.

Ambassador Yeganian himself took part in the football tournament, playing for the Cambridge Veteran’s Soccer team, and winning second place overall. Sasun Hovhannisyan, the Consul of the Embassy, along with two of Ambassador Yeganian’s sons, Gevorg and Levon also took played in the football tournament, at varying levels.

During the closing ceremony of the games, Ambassador Yeganian awarded medals to those who had won them in their various competitions, after which he delivered a closing speech. In his speech, Ambassador Yeganian congratulated all the tournament’s participants, stressing that the Homenetmen Canada Annual Games are an important event for the Armenian Canadian Community; they unite the community’s athletes and their families. Ambassador Yeganian added that all this serves as evidence of the unity of Armenians living in Canada and the connection to their Motherland.
