Ambassador Harutyunyan’s Meeting with the Speaker of the Senate of Canada

On April 11, H.E. Ambassador Anahit Harutyunyan was received by the Honourable Raymonde Gagné, Speaker of the Senate of Canada.

During the meeting the interlocutors discussed a number of issues related to bilateral political agenda, parliamentary diplomacy, as well as regional security.
They emphasized the necessity of continuously strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, drawing attention to the issue of securing more political involvement of women.
Both sides attached great importance to the bilateral cooperation within international organizations, particularly the International Organization of La Francophonie.
Special reference was made to the importance of educational sector’s further development in the context of democratic reforms being implemented in Armenia.
