On December 6, H.E. Anahit Harutyunyan, Ambassador of Armenia to Canada, hosted a meeting with a group of students from the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies of the Carleton University, accompanied by professor Jeff Sahadeo.

Ambassador Harutyunyan warmly welcomed the guests and presented the priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy, recent developments in the Armenian-Canadian political agenda, security challenges Armenia is facing in the South Caucasus, issue of unblocking of regional infrastructure, as well as relations of Armenia with its immediate neighbours. In answer to many questions from the students, Ambassador Harutyunyan touched upon Azerbaijan’s occupation of sovereign territory of Armenia, the consequences of forced displacement of the indigenous people of Artsakh by Azerbaijan through ethnic cleansing, the imperative of addressing this people’s rights, as well as Azerbaijan’s policy of continuous destruction of Armenian cultural and religious heritage.
