A discussion-talk was held at the Embassy of Armenia to Canada

On March 6, a discussion-talk titled “Armenia's Geopolitical Future: Navigating Challenges on the Path to Peace” was held at the Embassy of Armenia to Canada.

The talk was delivered by Professor Jean-François Ratelle from the University of Ottawa. The discussion was moderated by Professor Jeff Sahadeo from the Carleton University. Both professors are recognized for their deep knowledge of the region, in particular the South Caucasus.

H.E. Ambassador Anahit Harutyunyan warmly welcomed the guests and delivered opening remarks, highlighting the importance of discussions on the current and possible developments in the geopolitical state of affairs.

J.-F. Ratelle offered his own perspective and point of view on the current geopolitical reality in the South Caucasus and the difficult challenges Armenia is facing.

J.-F. Ratelle answered attendees’ many questions during an active discussion that followed his talk. The participants touched upon many topics, including the right to return of Artsakh Armenians, the continuous occupation of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia and threats to use force by Azerbaijan, opening of regional communications, transport infrastructures, “The Crossroads of Peace” project, the relations of Armenia with its neighbours, and the issues of effectiveness of the Armenian diaspora’s activities in the context of all these matters.
