Phone Call between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Canada

On July 1, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a phone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Anita Anand.

The interlocutors discussed issues of development of bilateral cooperation in various areas of mutual interest. Minister Mirzoyan noted that the Republic of Armenia appreciates Canada’s continued support for Armenia’s democracy, political independence and economic development.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Anita Anand exchanged views on regional issues. Minister Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, emphasizing the importance of signing of the Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan for lasting peace in the South Caucasus region. In this context, Minister Mirzoyan also touched upon the topic of unblocking regional communications under the concept of the "Crossroads of Peace".

The interlocutors also touched upon the humanitarian assistance provided by the Government of Armenia in evacuating citizens of third countries, including citizens of Canada, through the territory of Armenia due to the situation in Iran.
